This is definitely my worst blogging month since I didn’t update as often as in the past. First of all, I’ve received many questions regarding to the DLC for Dynasty Warriors 7 in oversea for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The team is working on it, so expect it to come in the very end of April or the very beginning of May. The DLC would be a huge pack which contains the Japanese voice option with Dynasty Warriors 6 costumes, also the BGM, stages, weapons (weapon pack might cost some) – also not to worry because you’ll get other old Dynasty Warriors costumes as well, will keep you updated when the time comes. Sorry for the wait!
I will be away from 20th April and back in 6th May, so as you can see this is definitely going to be my worst blogging month. But during my absence, if you have time, please join the “I’M A WARRIOR” contest on KOEI facebook, ’cause when I’m back that’s the first thing I would put online, also to keep you updated with my schedule for London MCM Expo (27-29 May) 2011 – it’s going to be very crazy and I’m very nervous and stressed about it.

DEAD OR ALIVE Dimensions for the Nintendo 3DS is dated for Europe, coming May 20th. In Chinese, 5.20 means “I love you” – so when I saw that release date, I had a sweet smile LOL! Check out the official site @ http://bit.ly/doadsite and you’ll hear the old school Kasumi’s theme is back and remixed!
Because I wasn’t an Xbox user in the past (only PS2), I missed out some part of the DOA series. I’ve used to play DOA2 on the PS2 and that’s like the game I played all the time in fighting genre because it’s for leisure and the graphic is damn well nice still if you look back! I’ve tried this on the 3DS, as I said before, one of my favourite things is the touch screen move list and the 3D that implemented very well for the eyes. I can’t stop listening to the Kasumi’s theme though, glad someone has put that up on YouTube, so nostalgic!

So what’s coming in summer for us? DYNASTY WARRIORS: GUNDAM 3, hell yeah, it’s returned with the epic cel-shading graphic this time! Graphic: 10/10 – read this review! It’s coming in summer, exact release date TBA. If the guys from KOEI Warriors said it’s a good game, then yes, it is a good game. You just have to accept the fact!

Closing Comment: I’ll be back in May with more exciting content to get you TECMO KOEI-lized. Oh, I also have a request from people asking me to write something about myself, and I’ve done it. You can read it here: www.inspchin.com/discovery – and thank you for your love, support and your money for our titles – really hope we can make more good titles in the future, so your support is always important.
It’s April 8th, and it’s Friday! It’s time kicking in the front seat, and playing your Dynasty Warriors 7 – we we we so excited, gonna have fun fun fun fun and looking forward to the weekend! Rebecca Black is a genius, period. By the way, Dynasty Warriors 7 is available in stores now, and as you might probably have heard and seen from the reviews, tweets and comments, they’re almost all positive. That means when everyone says it’s a good game, then yes, it is a good game.
Today, I’m going to share my Dynasty Warriors 7 journey with you from the day it announced (when I was at Tokyo Game Show 2010 in Japan) – and yes, I was the one who first took the picture the stage announcement pictures and revealed to the media for them to use it. I would start this from September 2010 (the time when the title has actually confirmed and announced) instead of telling you what’s happening in the early development stage because I didn’t get involved much for the development part.

SEPTEMBER 2010
(The 10th Anniversary)
So back in Tokyo Game Show 2010, Thursday morning, I’ve been told that the producer, Mr. Akihiro Suzuki would have an announcement on stage during this 10th anniversary of Dynasty Warriors, I was waiting on the PlayStation booth for at least 2 hours standing in the crowd to wait with sweat so I wouldn’t miss anything out. No one was allowed to take any picture back then because it was all blocked (that’s why you didn’t see any coverage from other media apart using my pictures) but I thought it would be such a waste if I didn’t take some, thus I did it in Chin’s way to take some sneaky pictures and make some tweets about it, it’s efficient and I did it in the right way.
This trailer was shown during the presentation as well. The trailer was in the loop movie at TECMO KOEI booth on the day after throughout the weekend. People weren’t that happy the title being PlayStation 3 exclusive in Japan. But at that time, we hadn’t confirmed for the oversea releases yet.
You can also watch the booth tour video here. We have Marko there explains why Dynasty Warriors 7 is known as 6th installment (not 7th in Japan) and you can also see the board that revealed the conference would be on October 26, 2010.

OCTOBER 2010
(Characters revealed – Xiahou Dun, Zhen Ji, Lu Xun, Zhou Tai, Zhao Yun, Bao Sanniang, Sima Shi, Sima Zhao – 8 characters confirmed.)
The press conference was held in Japan with the introduction of the new characters and the new kingdom “Jin” with the Sima Zhao gameplay. I still remember some of my friends in UK woke up 5am in the morning just to watch the conference live. You can see the conference video here with the gameplay of Sima Zhao. The game was still in development back then. But before that, the 10th anniversary Dynasty Warriors site has some sort of puzzle game that teases users with the 8 character images.
On the October 30th, we had a stage presentation in London MCM Expo with the announcement of Dynasty Warriors 7 release in oversea on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 (Japan remains as PlayStation 3 exclusive) – this was such a big hit and so happy that our TECMO KOEI family enjoyed it.
It’s also the first time we revealed this trailer before it’s officially revealed to public. Look at the audience! It’s our first time for doing this and I’m really proud of being one of the warriors and this community is indeed the best yet.

NOVEMBER 2010
(Characters revealed – Cao Cao, Xiahou Dun, Cai Wenji, Lu Meng, Ling Tong, Da Qiao, Xing Cai, Ma Chao, Wang Yuanji, Zhuge Dan – 18 characters confirmed.)
The new info has been revealed bits by bits from the press and the Japanese official site, while I was sitting in the office testing the game, was concerning about how the game could come out with.
We had attended to Memorabilia show in Birmingham to make this special “Dynasty Warriors 10th Anniversary” video of “Dynasty Warriors Is My Life!” – sharing the love around!
————
DECEMBER 2010
(Characters revealed – Cao Ren, Ding Feng, Zhou Yu, Sun Ce, Huang Zhong, Jiang Wei, Ma Dai, Sima Yi, Deng Ai, Zhong Hui, Guo Huai, Meng Huo, Zhu Rong – 31 characters confirmed.)
The new info revealed once every 2 weeks as usual. But in December, we launched the English site before the Christmas in 5 languages in Europe, as well as the English logo.
Something happened this month while someone hacked into the www.dynastywarriors7.eu server and leaked out Xiahou Ba in the very end of December, that’s why he was revealed few weeks earlier than its actual schedule.

JANUARY 2011
(Characters revealed: Jia Xu, Dian Wei, Zhang Liao, Zhang He, Taishi Ci, Sun Shang Xiang, Xiao Qiao, Yue Ying, Zhuge Liang, Liu Bei, Liu Chan, Xiahou Ba, Yuan Shao, Zhang Jiao, Dong Zhuo – 46 characters confirmed.)
The announcement was made that KinKi Kids would be getting involved and singing the theme song for Shin Sangoku Musou 6 in Japan.
Pre-order bonus and Treasure Box have been announced in Japan. Nothing much happened this part (apart from the massive character roaster announcement), and I was playing Jin’s story mode and really got into it on how well it is.
The packshot of Dynasty Warriors 7 for oversea had been decided this month as well (yes, that one of Zhao Yun which was first revealed in London MCM Expo – it was a bit rush and we didn’t manage to get some newer asset in time) – The Japanese packshot (the logo in the blue background was revealed this month as well.)

FEBRUARY 2011
(Characters revealed: Cao Pi, Xu Zhu, Lian Shi, Sun Quan, Sun Jian, Zhang Fei, Guan Yu, Guan Ping, Guan Suo, Lu Bu – 56 characters confirmed.)
By giving this a final boost, the producer of Dynasty Warriors 7 announced about the DLC with the costumes from Dynasty Warriors 3, 4, 5 would be available for Dynasty Warriors 7. He also announced about the DLC that consists of old stages, new weapons and BGM. Many have also questioned about the Dynasty Warriors characters that have their nipples removed, I don’t know what’s the reason behind this, I do miss having Gan Ning’s nipples back in Dynasty Warriors 5 when he’s topless…
We had attended to Midlands MCM Expo to do a little promotion with the leaflets giveaway. But please get prepared, because I don’t look very nice in the picture.
The Japanese trailers for Jin, Wei, Wu and Shu have been released this month (weekly basis) as well. I’m glad they have made the trailer for each kingdom (it’s a shame that there’s no English version for this!)
The English gameplay of Dynasty Warriors 7 had been released on the GDC event as well.
I’ve also made friends with @koeitecmogames and the music composers, such as MASA and Kensuke Inage on Twitter by giving them feedback on how amazing they are. *morale boosting*

MARCH 2011
(Characters revealed: Xu Huang, Huang Gai, Gan Ning, Pang Tong, Wei Yan, Diao Chan – 62 characters confirmed in total.)
The game has been released in Japan on 10th and a slight delay in both North America and Europe. We were also working for the pre-order bonus in UK, which when you pre-ordered the game you would get a very rare exclusive limited kingdom pen of Dynasty Warriors 7. We have also announced the Japanese voice option would be available in English version of the game along with all the related DLC that has been released in Japan, release date TBC.
A lot of online activities had been done this month, the advertisement, the competition, the pre-order bonus, even the facebook upgrades with Dynasty Warriors 7 promotion in there.
In Japan, the team had been working with a comedy show and came out with Yoshimoto Musou project for the promotion with the live stream with the gameplay video and this was a blast.
You can check one of the sample videos here.
Earthquake and tsunami happened in Japan this month (2 days after Dynasty Warriors 7 released in Japan) – good news is, everyone in KOEI TECMO is safe; bad news is, it affects the economy as well as the DLC release for this title. Everything has been pushed back due to the disaster, this includes the release of the original soundtrack and some related Dynasty Warriors 7 merchandise.

APRIL 2011

Closing Comment: I would say we didn’t get involved in too many outdoor activities for Dynasty Warriors 7 this time (as you can see apart from London Expo stage presentation, there’s really nothing else) compared to what we’ve done in the past for other titles, such as Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce (which I personally think it’s a shame, but then again, I understand that we had a lot of titles coming at that time and everyone was really busy). For Dynasty Warriors 7, most activities I’ve involved are mostly online based, to connect with the fans, which means it’s with a lot of online and social network involvement. From doing this, I’ve learned a lot from the fans by connecting, talking and even meeting them, I think it’s one of the new experience on another bright side.
It has arrived. “Chibi” doesn’t refer to Red Cliff here, but a Japanese term of “short person” or “cute thing” (in this case) – Yes, this is what I’m going to show you today, the Dynasty Warriors 7 (Shin Sangokumusou 6) chibi figurine set volume 1.
You have 12 character in this first set: Xiahou Dun (Wei), Zhen Ji (Wei), Zhou Tai (Wu), Lu Xun (Wu), Zhao Yun (Shu), Xing Cai (Shu), Jiang Wei (Shu), Sima Yi (Jin), Sima Shi (Jin), Zhuge Dan (Jin), Deng Ai (Jin) and Zhang Jiao (Other).
You can have a look on the design on these chibi characters, it’s quite detailed. A box consists of the figure, a card and a mini catalogue.
Guess what? We’ll be selling this in our future expo shows. I believe London MCM Expo (27-29 May 2011) is our next one, not only these figurines and we’ll have a lot of merchandise to be on our sales desk. Stay tuned!
EDIT: So, people requested for wanting to see more. So here are all the remaining figurines! Now you get to see all 12 characters here. Any questions, feel free to ask or tweet @inspchin on Twitter.
