NINJA GAIDEN 3

For Ninja Gaiden 3, from the London stage, Ryu has lost his sword in the final duel with the Regent of the Mask, that’s also you get to see Ayane in the next stage passing him the new sword from Hayate. I would say the new stage looks really different than the past Ninja Gaiden series in level wise (if you’ve watched the live stream on IGN) – I’m not going to spoil you but I would say the whole stage is just completely different and I personally think it’s really really good. I’ve also heard some feedback from the fans (for those who watched the live stream) and they’re mostly positive (which is good). In past titles, Ninja Gaiden series have been mainly focusing on Ryu’s moves, but this time around, as Team Ninja has taken it to the new direction, while player not only will enjoy the combat and gameplay, but will gain greater insight and emotion into Ryu’s spirit as well.

The questions such as dismemberment, returning characters and etc, I believe they’ve all been answered in the previous interview videos that I’ve done. You can watch it here: PART 1 & PART 2. Ninja Gaiden 3 is compatible with PlayStation Move controller because the team believes that the Move can resemble a katana very closely and would be fun to try it out. However, for the Xbox 360 version of Ninja Gaiden 3 is not compatible with Kinect. About the WiiU version, more details will be coming soon.

Apart from this, there is a very huge online play for Ninja Gaiden 3. During the event, we have tried out the Clan Battle (4 vs 4 online) at the Hidden Village, you can customize your character and fight other ninjas on the battlefield. You can also obtained new items during the online play as well. During the session, I’ve noticed that my character was able to collect the kanji symbol after I killed the other ninjas, as well as committing suicide (not to let your opponent to get the score). I would say there are still so many things to explore in the Online Mode. I’ll let you know more information about it when the time comes. Ninja Gaiden 3 is coming in the end of March 23, 2012 in Europe.

DEAD OR ALIVE 5

As for DOA5, I just couldn’t believe the game was only 15% done when I was playing it. The graphic is top class (as you can see the sweat, the dirt and everything is so realistic), I’ve also noticed the chest size reduction – I personally think it’s better because the tagline is “I’m A Fighter” anyway and the team has evolved. I have high hope for this one!

I didn’t get a lot of information about DOA5 this time but I’ve asked Shimbori-san about “Make A Move” contest that we had in November that players submitted their moves and the team would put it in the game as well as giving credits. There are around 500 entries and he’s still checking them from time to time. Good news is that he has got 2 moves from the submission already so when the time comes, we’ll see who are the winners. Good luck and I hope your entries get picked and your name to get credited.

There are a lot of new features in the Dynasty Warriors Next. I love the Edit Mode (which you can customize your own characters and you can create up to 100 officers and use them in Conquest Mode and Coalition Mode!

Not just that, there are many other mini game as well.

Apart from that, the gameplay isn’t just button mashing, you also use the touch screen, shake it and it’s the brand new way to play it, check out these Japanese gameplay videos. You’ll see new attacks from the officers as well as the new story cutscenes.

I’ve done the mini interview with the producer, Mr. Kenichi Ogasawara before. It’s an interesting interview, if you haven’t seen it yet, you should check it out.

Closing Comment: That’s all for the DLC around the launch. When the time comes, I’ll provide you more information. Don’t worry as we have more exciting DLC coming.

But luckily, I had the opportunity to talk to the producer of Dynasty Warriors 7/XL directly during the Tokyo Game Show 2011 and asked him about his plan for the next Dynasty Warriors 7/XL DLC, he told me he might bring some old weapons from the previous Dynasty Warriors (not Strikeforce) series back as a DLC. But since I was there already, I’ve told him about how people (well this guy called @bgybgy on Twitter) are so crazy over the Twin Canes and actually begging for it as the next DLC. So I started to remind him that before the interview, during the interview (04:00) and even after the interview.

So, this is one of the case I’m definitely sure it’s not a coincidence and I personally am quite happy that the producer actually listened, the team made the twin canes as a DLC weapon as well as its moves for you and this is really one of the best thing I could do for you guys. Yes, twin canes will be your next weapon DLC for Dynasty Warriors 7 and Xtreme Legends. So, no more begging tweets, no more petitions as it’s coming as a DLC weapon in December 2011 in Japan and very early 2012 in both US and EU. We made it, like I said before, “Don’t just dream, chase for it and make it come true.”

LEGEND MODE

You choose the officer (65 of them for you to choose) and play as and an Adjutant to support you. The officers you select will be made Prefect of the Castle Town. The atmosphere of the town will change depending on the Adjuntant selected. As you clear the stages with your officer, his/her abilities will increase. You may change your officer at any time in the Castle Town, and you can change your Adjutant by visiting the Counselor. Also, some characters have brand new costumes too!

As for the Castle Town, you can assign your selected officer as the Prefect. By clearing the stages within the game, a variety of trades and other people will begin to populate the town, changing its atmosphere and look. The atmosphere of the Castle Town is also influenced by who you choose as your Adjutant. Here’s the ATMOSPHERE with its details.
Desolate – The Prefect has just started ruling the town. There are few people and the Castle Town is in ruins.
Orderly – The Attack and Defense of your officer during battles in Legend Mode will increase.
Carefree – The price of items sold within the Castle Town will increase.
Friendly – Use one Adjutant for a long period of time to attain a Friendly atmosphere. You may receive gifts from your Adjutant.

There are more explanations about the Town Characters and how each of them functions, and these are the main ones.
Weapon Dealer – To help you to create your weapons.
Blacksmith – You can leave your weapon here by paying the fee, and your Seal Gauge will increase depending on your battle’s performance.
Counselor – Choose the officer to be your Adjutant. The goods within the town and your abilities in battle will differ fom what you’ve chosen.
Strategist – Purchase war manuals.
Merchant – Send the merchant to visit various locations to obtain rare treasures, guardian animals (to support you in battle) and weapons.
City Guard – You only talk to him when you’re ready to select a stage and go to battle.

One new thing for the Legend Mode is while upgrading your officer, you can acquire titles as well. Titles enable you to receive various abilities. They are specific to each officer and can only be obtained within Legend Mode. You are able to use the effects gained from these titles anywhere except in Challenge Mode. If you clear stages within Legend Mode, all of the officers will receive the title, “Lieutenant General,” and you will be able to check them within the Pause Menu by going to OFFICER INFO and checking TITLES. Afterward, if you complete the requirements listed under TITLES for each officer, then you will be able to receive even higher-ranked titles. Once you receive the highest-ranked title, you will receive elaborate garments that you can check under OUTFITS in OFFICER INFO, and your abilities will increase.

CHALLENGE MODE

This mode allows you to compete in various challenges, each with their own rules. You can play with 1 player or 2 players offline and online.

Rampage
- Try to defeat as many enemies as possible within the given time limit. The challenge will be complete if time runs out or if your officer loses all of his or her Health. If you use an EX Attack, then your Attack will be doubled for 30 seconds.

Bridge Melee
- Try and knock off as many enemies as possible from an elevated platform within the given time limit. The challenge will end if your officer falls from the platform or loses all of his or her Health. If you use an EX Attack, then your Defense will be doubled for 30 seconds.

Speed Run
- Try to reach the specified destination as quickly as possible. The challenge will end if time runs out or if your officer loses all of his or her Health. If you use an EX Attack, then your Speed will be doubled for 30 seconds.

Arena
- Try to defeat as many enemy officers as possible. The Health of your officer cannot be replenished. The more enemy officers you defeat, the stronger subsequent ones will become. The challenge will end if your officer loses all of his or her health. If you use an EX attack, then your Attack will be doubled for 30 seconds.
