*** UPDATE: SITE IS NOW LAUNCHED –> www.trinity-game.com ***
I’d like to keep you guys updated on what I’m doing at the moment. I’m not slacking but working on Trinity: Souls of Zill O’ll English site (for Europe) currently. This time, I’m NOT the one who actually made, designed or coded the site, but I’m in charge on localizing it. So, the English site would have the same design as the Japanese version (which has already made by our Japan team) but with English text. I have to admit that I couldn’t come out with anything better than the one we already have because it’s good.
Well, I’ve decided to make some changes on the site, one of them is to change the character artwork from the drawn art to the CG art (those drawn arts do look amazing and it’s drawn by the famous artist), but I’ve realized something from the event and the online experience that people are actually more interested into the CG art, so I hope I’m on the right track on this one. Other than that, I’ve proposed to change the background music to make it less lullaby goodnight-like, I hope it gets the approval.
While localizing the site, I’ve gone through the story, character profiles, as well as played the game and watched some of the important cutscenes. I’m actually amazed on how good this game has turned out to be, well especially the story and the music really got me into it, some bits are quite dramatic too. I hope we can provide some more footage and story telling in coming months before the game is out in Europe on February 11th and North America on February 8th so more people can have more awareness about this game.
I’ve grown up with RPG, not to mention that I’ve played Final Fantasy VII more than 10 times in 2 years. I think if you’re an RPG fan like me and also like to hack and slash, you’ll like this game. The atmosphere of Trinity: Souls of Zill O’ll actually reminds of me Final Fantasy VIII in the beginning bit (regarding the rank), Final Fantasy X in the end bit (regarding the final boss) and Bladestorm: The Hundred Years’ War as a whole (regarding the mercenary) at the same time, this is my personal opinion though. I think as an RPG game, it’s important for a player to get “into” the character. This game might be focusing on three warriors (Areus, Selene and Dagda) work together to defeat the evil King Balor, but the main story is about Areus. At first, I didn’t think he’s an appealing character, until I’ve actually started to play and go through the game, my feeling is getting stronger to this character. You’ll see how he grows from losing his loved ones, betrayed by his best friend and many things that he’s done. He’s not a pretty boy, he doesn’t have pretty hair, he doesn’t look special, but you’ll agree that he’s the hero in the end. Trust me, you’ll feel proud for him so get some tissues ready, for your tears. And of course, not forget to mention – although you can only play as Areus, Selene and Dagda, there are many character interactions too (with their own bit of story), you’ll see how they all get together in the end. Trust me, it’s awesome!
I think I’ve told too much here. But I really hope we can launch the site soon, so you can have some English info to look at, as well as checking some footage (well I wish we could come out with a dramatic cutscene trailer with deep story telling – we’ll see!) – This game is getting far better than I expected, and I love it to pieces.
In case you’re wondering why Japan named this as Zill O’ll Zero, that’s because this is the story before the original Zill O’ll in Japan. So hope this makes more sense when it come to 0 (Zero).
