Finally, I’ve managed to try these 3 important TECMO KOEI games that are coming in the first quarter of 2011. I like all of them so far, Warriors: Legends of Troy is definitely the one I love the most. I’m not going to run through each features of the games as you might probably know them (if not, then click “more info” to check the official sites – Warriors: Legends of Troy website is coming soon though, I’m still making it!) – I’ll tell you what I like so far.
Warriors: Legends of Troy (more info)
– The first thing is of course I love all the graphic details at the background, and the violence and sword through the body and the fucking blood! I love the fact then you can pick up the weapons that enemies drop on the ground by pressing L2 button (PS3 version) and throw it (oh and the dead bodies on the battlefield stay!) – I love the camera auto-zoom when I throw the dagger to some peons at the right time. I love the end boss fight, it’s a bit like Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage while you have to press all the correct buttons to kill the boss but this one is single button for each action. I also love the CG cutscenes (some bits are really violent – I was like WTF!?) and the music, I enjoyed it so far. Coming March 2011 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Dynasty Warriors 7 (more info)
– I believe this is the Dynasty Warriors that has the most characters, fans will definitely like it. You have plenty of new characters, returning characters and a new “Jin” kingdom story. The thing I like the most is the seamless gameplay while the cutscenes (in the beginning / half way through the game) and the battle linked together and it works really well (I just wish I have horse in all the cutscenes then when it goes to this seamless play I have a horse with me :P – well Xiahou Dun has one!) You can equip two weapons now to bring it to the battlefield and swap them. You can also swim and climb. Some of the maps are definitely bigger now – that’s why you will play as a different part with different character in some of the stages. Those of you who questioned me about the “juggle boobies” – Sorry, “Shake Your Bon-Bon” never existed in Three Kingdoms era. Coming March 2011 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Trinity: Souls of Zill O’ll (more info)
– With the hype of Dynasty Warriors 7, I think most people already forgot about this. I was the same until I actually tried the game out and I love it. Although the gameplay is still a hack and slash and control three characters in real time, but the story, cutscenes, canva design (might hurt eyes a bit) and the music are beautiful. I like the environment interaction, for example, you see a waterfall, then you use Areus’ ice magic to freeze it to be able to jump up to the top and explore the new path. I also like the character interactions – Sheelagh, I love your boink! I’m liking Reig too, he’s my ugly version of Chris Evans that has gone emo! Back to the story, I didn’t really like Areus at first until I played it (it got me into the story and characters quick) and I realized how touching the story is. I’m not going to leak much but I’d say Areus is definitely my hero. If you like action and RPG, I think you have to try this because you will love it. I know it’s the first time for Omega Force to develop the RPG but it turned out good in the end. Released February 11, 2011 on PlayStation 3.
I know people might say, oh Chin, you work for TECMO KOEI, of course you’re saying good things about all of their games. Actually, fuck that. I don’t get paid or extra bonus for saying any good thing or doing any of these bloggings. It’s just that I’ve realized these games are pretty good and have some potential so I would like to share my thoughts to get some attentions. Oh yeah, follow me on Twitter if you have one –> @inspchin – Remember to mention me and let me know so I can follow you back because I’ve been followed by many diet bots and sex bots lately – maybe God knows I’m lacking on those things in my life!
